Benefits of SEO vs Other Types of Marketing
The beauty of SEO is that we put your website directly in the path of people who are actually looking for what you offer.
This is a huge difference from other forms of advertising like banners and text ads. Those are called “interruption marketing.” It’s an interference with what they are trying to accomplish online.
On the other hand, SEO gives searchers the answer they were looking for in the first place.
By ranking higher in Google, businesses can be revolutionized by delivering a steady stream of targeted, qualified traffic.
Every day Google search is used 3.3 Billion times. People are searching for solutions to their problems. They search for a specific term, and whatever shows up on the first page is likely to get their business. If you are not on the first page of google for your business’ keywords then you are losing business to your competitors every single day.
So, tell us about your business by filling out the Discovery Form. This will give us enough information to see if SEO is right for you and how we can help you. We’ll do a complimentary SEO assessment of your website and make a video explaining exactly what our company can do for you.
What is SEO and What Will It Do For My Business?
A lot of people think they understand what SEO is, but I’ll take this opportunity to describe exactly what it is that we do, what we don’t do, and why. This will give you a full understanding of what our digital marketing company can do for you.
SEO should not be confused with pay-per-click, social media marketing, or any other forms of online advertising. SEO is not banner ads, or anything else like that. SEO is the practice of getting found in Google. It’s causing a website to appear highly for specific phrase when typed into a search engine.
When someone Googles something, the results that come up are the web sites that are best optimized (have the best SEO) for that specific term.
SEO vs PPC
Paid ads are pretty obvious because they have a yellow icon next to them that says “ad”. Those businesses pay to be there for every click. This is called Pay Per Click, or PPC.
Every time someone clicks that ad, it costs that business money. Whether or not this is effective depends on the effectiveness of the ad campaign, keyword selection, and how well their website converts. Getting a positive return on investment on PPC ads requires huge budgets, extensive testing, and constant adjustment.
Not only does a PPC campaign have to be top-notch in order to get traffic to your site, but your website also has to convert extremely well in order to not lose money on every single click.
Of course, it can be done. But it requires a tremendous amount of time and resources. When business owners try to do it themselves, most of them never get past the learning curve and lose money on every click. When they hire a PPC professional who really knows what they’re doing, they have to pay the PPC consultant on an ongoing basis. Additionally, they will have to continue to pay every time someone clicks one of their ads. The business never stops paying for traffic. They “pay per click”, hence the name.
Because PPC doesn’t deliver a return on investment anywhere near what you will get with SEO, PPC is not part of our online marketing strategy.
Why SEO Trumps PPC
SEO has tremendous advantages both long term and short term over PPC. With SEO, you do not pay per click. You will first pay a professional SEO firm to get your website found in Google. Then, once your website is ranked, you have no more expense.
Your website will be #1 in the Google search results, and will continue to generate traffic for you for free.
Yes, that’s right. You get free traffic in definitely. That’s the beauty of SEO.
Now, if your rankings start to slip we can go in and push you back to the top. But, this is usually not needed for a while, if ever.
So, while there are upfront costs in implementing the SEO for the first several months, after that the traffic is free. You can see why SEO is something we prefer far more than PPC for our own online businesses and why we don’t offer it. SEO’s ROI is just so much better!
We do what we know works best to get qualified, targeted traffic to your website so that you can grow your business effectively.
Another advantage of SEO over pay-per-click is that people generally tend to prefer clicking on the organic search results anyway (what you get with SEO). People would rather click something that they know is extremely relevant to what they searched, rather than an ad that is more or less forced upon them. None of us really like clicking on ads unless it’s extremely compelling and relevant.
That is why most of the clicks on the search results page go to the top organic search results. Not the paid search results. The organic search results that are achieved through SEO. Even if the paid results are placed higher, people still click on the organic SEO results more.
So, more clicks and you don’t pay for each one. Win-win.
